"I was very impressed with this amazing retro cookstore, even more so when I discovered an original Leisure Sink unit on display! Leisuresinks.co.uk"

Gina Strudwick

"First visited on Saturday - I'll be back. I loved everything in this shop, including the music. I wanted ...everything!"

Pat

"After searching and almost giving up I found your online shop sold the Kaymet Gold tray I remember from many years ago. Stylish and durable the Rolls Royce of trays! Although not cheap, I think its worth its weight in gold and should last for years. Not only that, the ordering process was straightforward and I actually received my tray by recorded delivery two days after ordering it. How's that for service. One delighted customer."

Jan , Devon

"I love Utility - please can you move your entire shop to Exeter so I can visit everyday? Actually, stay in Brighton - gives me an added excuse to visit! Fantastic range - like being in my Nan's kitchen again."

Eunice

"What a fabulous shop.....lots of lovely 'back to basics' bits, loving the packs four candles!!!!!!! and now enjoying a nice cup of tea made in our new teapot. We'll be back again soon!"

"Fab shop. Yummy stuff. Grand folk. Also loving the red top jam jars. Great for home made mayo look in' sexy on the table. Also the tattoo plates. Yay. "

"Everytime we visit Brighton we make a beeline for Utility. We've bought Anchor shot glasses as favours for wedding guests, huge pickle jars to use as vases, vintage cutlery, silver plated jugs - the list could go on and on. We'll be back very soon to kit out our new VW Camper kitchen. Such a great value, interesting and useful place to shop. "

Lee & Lou

"We absolutely LOVE Utility. There were some original 1940's (I think) Hovis bread tins when we popped in the first time, and I was kicking myself on our second visit because they'd all sold out! I settled for some pie tins instead (that's a whole other story of culinary disaster). Lovely shop, and lovely Colin! "

Sarah Colbourne

"Your shop is understated and beautiful, full of good old fashioned stuff that last's forever. You seem proud of how and where everything is made.I find myself lusting after items such as dustpans and brushes.By far my favourite shop in Brighton."

"What a fantastic shop! I found this place when on a day trip to Brighton. I absolutely love the products, the service was brilliant and the whole atmosphere of the shop (including the music!) was lovely. I'm a huge fan and will most definitely be making plenty of online purchases! "

Shellie

"Your shop is brilliant! I have a rage-inducing dislike of unnecessarily labeled crockery… When I saw your window display 'Bread bins with no "Bread"', I thought, "finally, my spiritual home!" . Thank you for saving my kitchen from the ravages of bad taste"

John Warburton

"This shop is wonderful. OK, so I'm fifty years old, so have lots of memories that include items sold here: but they're STILL practical, and they're STILL well-made, with help always and pleasantly on hand when making a choice."

Doramy Morgan

"I am in USa but originally from UK - lovely to see such a nicce array of goods online - have ordered the spout doctor in the hope that my cupboard full of drippy teapots will be saved before I bin the lot. Will be ordering lots of enamel stuff for my poor husband to bring over for me when he visits in Spring!! Fingers crossed for spout doctor success. Thanks! "

"After about a 20 minute browse and a great 10 minute chat with Colin spending just over a fiver came out with a big cheesy grin on my face and four exercise books, builders pencils and a fishing net. A fantastic shopping experience, the shop is not a museum but is reminiscent of a bygone age. Keen prices on the own brand stuff too. When are you opening a branch in Wales?"
