Braided rug - recycled plastic
Braided rug - recycled plastic
Can you believe it? This handsome braided rug is made from recycled plastic! It feels as soft as woven jute though, and is machine washable. It measures 61cm x 91cm and is perfect for your kitchen, bathroom, bedroom or hallway. And you can use them outdoors too since they're mildew resistant.
If you are still in any doubt, this is what the Braided Rug Co say about their beautiful rug: Not only can you machine wash them, they can be used indoors or out, without rotting, or developing mildew. And they won't fade! They don't feel like plastic either - they are supremely soft underfoot. And by buying one of these rugs, you are now doing your own little bit towards combatting the millions of tons of waste plastic produced every year.
I was explaining in the jute braided rug listing, that the concept of braiding fabric to form a mat goes way back: Native Americans used the idea of plaiting yarn and sewing it together to make super strong saddle blankets and mats. Their method was then adopted by American settlers and braided rugs became a popular household staple.
Available in very dark Navy and off white or 'Paprika' - kind of a hot gingery orange and off white.
