Why is it so hard to find a pub with straight beer glasses any more?  Duralex make both this excellent 560ml/pint glass (which feels slightlier heavier than your normal pint glass) and also the much missed straight half pint size.

Stop Press: we had a review from Greg, who rightly pointed out that if you are not used to the terminology of 'straight' for a beer glass, my title might be misleading; You can see very clearly from the pictures that the glass's sides are not parallel... They are slightly conically shaped. However, they are not a dimple pint glass either, which is why they are called a 'straight' glass. When you ordered a pint, you used to be asked 'do you want that in a straight glass or a jug?'. I do hope that clears things up.

  • The pint measures 15cm high with a 9cm diameter at the rim.
  • The half pint measures 12cm high with an 8cm diameter at the rim.

We have its little brother the 330ml version too: Now that’s what I call a water glass.  It actually makes me want to drink water. I have vaguely scary memories of headmistress in assembly using similar. Holds 33cl or just over half a pint (neither pint-glass huge or tiddly-useless – the perfect size) and is a joy to behold. So much so I had to take two pictures of it. Scrub the water idea.  Mine’s half a bitter top thanks (not shandy mind).

Favourite glasses

When I started working at CHISEL our office only had two 'stolen from the pub' pint glasses which were all scratched up from the dishwasher.
All my team like having water at their desks, and you really need a big glass so you can drink your recommended 2 litres. These glasses are great - they are actually 500ml but that's all good, and in that toughened Duralex glass that thrives in a dishwasher, and also survives knocks.

Nice and substantial, without being too chunky

Love these! The glass just feels really nice and substantial, without being too chunky. I'm ordering some more!

How is this straight?

I can see at least few degrees angle. Not straight really

Morning Greg. I am so sorry if you feel the description meant the glass only merited a 2 star review! The term 'straight' is used for pub pint and half glasses that are not a 'jug' ie those with dimples and a handle. I am very sorry if the terminology caused confusion and I will amend the description accordingly.
