Lodge camp dutch oven
Lodge camp dutch oven
If this is new to you let me tell you a Lodge camp dutch oven is a marvellous thing. Made of cast iron for use over a fire they are very versatile cooking pots indeed. Looking at them you would assume they were for stew-like affairs only but no - they are such good conductors of heat that you can brown bread in them or make an apple upside down cake. (If you can do that when you are camping I will reconsider my views on camping and may come with you.) They have feet for standing directly on the coals or can hang on a chain from a tripod over the fire. The lid has a rim designed for holding coals so the heat comes from top and bottom. Comes with an ace recipe book too. Made by Lodge in Tennessee. They've been making them for a long while now so they know what they're doing.
There are several sizes but we hold stock of the 10" diameter and 12" diameter and can order other sizes too.
The 10" that's about a 25cm diameter holds 4 quarts which is about 3.79 litres.
The 12" or 30cm diameter holds 6 quarts which is about 5.7 litres
