After 10 years in this flat, I decided to treat myself to a loo roll holder I didn't hate, that didn't keep dumping my loo roll on the floor. This one fit the bill, with a pleasing side of nostalgia as it's the closest I've found to the one that came with my parents house, and it's weird little wainscoted toilet cabin.
Was it spendy for a loo roll holder, yes but think of the mental toll its relieved now I'm not thinking I hate this every other time I go to the loo.
I have a very small bathroom and a walk in shower so my bathmat is as much a floor drying mat as it is a foot drying mat. I love that it never feels soggy, it's comfy under the feet, and unlike some of my fabric ones it doesn't take ages to dry when the towel rail isn't on, I can just lean it against the wall to dry off on both sides when I'm done so it never gets that perma mildew smell some former bathmats have.
I'm on a very mundane mission to replace the boring everyday items in my life with less boring nicer ones as they break or wear out. Do I like using a dustpan? No. Does this gorgeous blue one make needing to use a dustpan slightly more fun? Yes. (for a given value of fun), and it looks nicer hung on the wall than the broken one someone stood on.
As we all should aspire to be. I needed more hooks for hanging stuff near the cooker and the small red ones are way more pleasing to me than such a mundane product needs to be.
I bought one of these ages ago to use in the bathroom and recently decided I wanted to make my own range style towel that went better with the colours in my bathroom than the ready made ones Utility sells would.
The highest praise I can give a piece of cutlery is it feels nice in my hand, and it looks good. This one does. It's deeply pleasing. Like my old silver service fork and spoon but aesthetically pleasing.
And I don't regret it! I've loved Utility's enamel ware since I saw a bight yellow speckled mug in their window, and wanted a pie dish sized for a single serving for ages, cos sometimes you've got just enough lasagne or crumble supplies leftover for a single portion. Also, the smallest one is deeply cute. Also lovely and solid.
The scent of this soap is the closest I have been able to find when searching for the old fashioned odour of carbolic soap. I have used it for washing my hands, rubbing on clothing stains before putting them in the washing machine and have not been disappointed with the results. I haven’t tried grating some off and adding to hot water to clean other things like the floor yet, but that’s my next task.

These are very useful and practical clips for holding tickets etc on a board or fridge. Good strong magnets and a good grip from the clip as well
My wife rolled her eyes when she realised I'd ordered a new bowl "just" for making sourdough, however, the shallow angle of the bowl sides makes it much easier to get your hands in when doing coil folds. Also the rings on the side of the bowl help with judging when to end bulk fermentation.

A glorious teapot that looks great and pours well. Keeps tea hot, but would disagree re the handle- beware, it does retain heat.

These are a million times more durable than Le Creuset's silicone spatulas, which nik and shred just by looking at them. I do wish these had the more thick rounded handle, but worth every penny!
Oh, I love the smell of this soap: it is just as I imagined! I haven't actually used it yet; it's not really right for summertime. So it is still wrapped in a paper bag in my bathroom cupboard; I take it out no and again and breathe in the smell of autumn in a pine forest :)
Great quality and service. The cutlery is a copy of the lovely Habitat Brighton range. The knives are pretty perfect and the forks are close: they're flat pressed steel rather than having the slightly bulbous handle that makes the original so comfortable. Very close though, especially at the very reasonable price for the set.
